Donna Duffy

For Donna, music is food for the soul. It is her connection to her Irish ancestors and to her community.
Donna has been part of numerous ensembles, from tavern theatre performances in Alaska with her husband John to joining the Gwaii Singers Choir and hosting poetry nights since moving to Haida Gwaii in 2008.
Her varied repertoire spans from traditional folk and spoken word to jazz to contemporary pop, with a particular affection for harmony and singalongs.

Coffeehouse songbook

Bus leaves at 5pm from G̱aw Tlagée/Masset on the day of the Coffeehouse and arrives in Daajing Giids around 6:30pm, just in time to sign up for the Open Mic. The Bus heads back to G̱aw Tlagée/Masset at the end of the Coffeehouse (cost $20/person).

The Magic Music Bus's first ride will be on Friday, October 30th.

Vanity Radio

Vanity Radio have developed their slick sound by melting down and forging their vast experiences in the rock, electronic dance, and synth wave realms over the years.
As newfound friends, collaborators, and multifaceted musicians, Wildson (Mitch Wilson) and Dark Shawn (Shawn Gairdner)'s chemistry is as undeniable as their vocal harmonies. With Wildson's charismatic, confident and bold vocal approach paired with the fiery fretwork of his tasty guitar tones and wealth of live experience, the prodigal Haida/Nisga'a/Giitsxan son has definitely arrived home at the right time. Dark Shawn‘s explosive beat mastering skills, production, savvy and haunting vocal chops smooth out an already bolstering mysterious energy source. Paired together, the duo complement each other symbiotically both musically and spiritually.

Fresh off their outfall of their "storm the shores" tour this summer, they are so excited to perform for our home Island.
