Naveed Ali & The Royal WeThe Royal We (Funk/Blues/Alternative) is a musical collective that upholds love as a means to disrupt the status quo and maintains that the colonial compass rose of this planet has its roots buried in land that is stolen, thorns that intentionally prick the undeserving and petals that reek of intolerance. Cora CamireCora is a a singer and songwriter born and raised in Masset. Using songwriting to navigate life’s seasons, Cora shares songs that reflect the beautiful strangeness of growing up and all that comes along with it. Cora has grown up playing on the stages of Haida Gwaii- with her last Haida Gwaii Coffeehouse feature being almost 10 years ago. Her love of performing reflects her love of this place, and she is excited to share her music once again with this wonderful community.
Wayne Harris & FriendsMusic is the heartbeat of my life. From the raw, upbeat tempo of Rock and Roll with Exit Strategy, to the emotional connection of Folk, the creative challenge of Jazz with FunGuise, and the ancestral pull of Celtic music with Erin Harris and Jake Pattison—each style speaks to a different part of me. This performance is a celebration of all these styles, shared with family and friends. Erin, Jake, and perhaps a few surprise guests will join me in what we lovingly call a kitchen party. Come sing with us, share the joy and be part of the music. HypselodorisOo! Wowwee! Julia, Aidan, and Jaahljuu are in a band now! Who knows what could happen! Maybe they will even harmonize!
Carson ReddenRy Cooder asked, “How can you keep moving unless you migrate too?” Following that notion I appeared on Haida Gwaii in February 2025 for reasons that weren’t clear to me at the time and are still subject to revision. I host a country music show called Barrooms to Barricades that airs on UVic’s radio station, CFUV and write songs about the inconsistent, troubled, strange people that I love. BubbersDavid Archer
