We are gearing up for another fabulous Coffeehouse season! This coming season, we will gather again in the Community Hall, in Daajing Giids. It is a spacious venue which will allow social distancing as needed.
As in years past, the Coffeehouse will take place on the last Friday of every month, starting on September 29, 2023 and going until March 29, 2024. There will be an Open Mic followed by a featured local performer or band. In addition to live music, we will also host a monthly community dinner preceeding each Coffeehouse. Dinner and music, food for body and soul! All this goodness by donation, in cash or in kind! We are super grateful for volunteers willing to pitch in - if you would like to help, please contact us! |
My name is Behn Cochrane and I play guitar, I sing, and I try to become a better musician every day.
I started playing music in my late 20’s and it’s been one of the greatest revelations of my life to discover that I was a musician. I am fortunate to have performed with a variety of talented Haida Gwaii musicians in bands including “The Spitfires” and “Badfish”. I’m a schoolteacher by trade and I love helping young people discover their inner rock stars. |
Jen Wilson is a song collector who loves to capture the essence of songs we know and love, while transforming the lyrics and tune to align with her personally and musically. Her approach to acoustic instruments is playfully aggressive, and the customized lyrics are entertaining. Although some lyrics are altered from cherished songs, her performances often inspire the crowd to sing along, hoot and holler, and jam along from their seats regardless. Atticus Burton Adams is an up and coming entertainer, multi instrumentalist, and composer capable of charming and inspiring all who listen to his music, precious voice, and wise words - he will be featured during Jen Wilson's set.

Join us for a community Solstice potluck, featuring local talent both on stage and in the kitchen.
Bring something to share - a song, a poem, a carol, a joke, good vibes or your favourite dessert. Come celebrate, get some lovin' from your community and (in the words of Old Man Luedecke) "take your heart's candle and relight it"! |
